4 Winds Lakeland Tipis
Join us for an
alternative camping experience in the wonderful
Lake District. Great for group bookings!
Camping in a Tipi (
Teepee or Wigwam as they are often called) is a truly unique way to
lessen your carbon footprint whilst visiting the Lake District.
In 2008
4 Winds Lakeland Tipis are aiming to create a sustainable environmentally aware location (see
Locations page) in which you can enjoy the beauty of this magnificent National Park. We are installing compost toilets, we use our natural spring water supply, we only use environmentally friendly cleaning products and have other plans in the pipeline for sustainability. (see
Eco Policy page)
When the sunshine filters through the canvas or the candlelight flickers across the tall majestic poles supporting this traditional dwelling you will feel a tangible sense of a simpler existence. The ethos of the North American Indian was to be at one with Grandmother Earth and to respect nature at
4 Winds we also adhere to this ethos.

You can use a
4 Winds Lake District Tipis camping location (see
locations page) group accommodation, for a
long weekend, a
honeymoon with a difference, a
summer camp holiday with the kids, for celebrations of any kind or to enjoy one of our themed events (see
events page).
When in
the Lake District you can walk in the tracks of our famous devotees such as
Beatrix Potter,
John Ruskin and
William Wordsworth (see
Lake District Page)
A
4 Winds Lakeland Tipi camping holiday offers you the chance to experience
the Lake District from a truly original approach.
All around is the Sacred Hoop of all life.
In front, behind, to the left, and to the right.
These are the powers of the four directions.
